About the Company
Recess Creative is a full-service creative and technology agency in Cleveland, Ohio, working since 2009. It builds brand platforms, websites, mobile apps and digital campaigns for organizations including Cleveland Metroparks, Honda, KeyBank and University Hospitals, grounding its work in research and strategy.
The agency organizes its work into five areas, from strategy and marketing through design, development and post-launch optimization. Every project follows the same five-stage process: Discover (research with partners and their clients, plus competitive analysis), Define (mapping the opportunity, requirements, UX and information architecture), Design (a creative approach meant to connect emotionally), Deliver (launch with attention to performance, mobile responsiveness and infrastructure) and Measure, Optimize and Support (testing, campaign optimization and long-term support).
- Strategy: brand positioning, competitive analysis, media strategy, email marketing, social and influencer work
- Marketing: campaign development and planning, content strategy, SEO/SEM and digital media
- Design and creative: branding and logo design, copywriting, illustration, collateral, UX/UI design, video and animation
- Development and technology: web, mobile app, full-stack and software development, plus API integration
- Implementation and optimization: analytics tracking, CRM implementation, measurement and reporting, media planning and buying, testing
Selected work on the site includes brand illustrations for Mealsgiving, a mobile app for Cleveland Metroparks, a website redesign for Cleveland Ohio.gov, brand, website and campaign strategy for Pope's Cocktails, a brand, website and campaign for the Lead Safe Cleveland Coalition, and a brand and website refresh for Cleveland Hopkins International Airport.
The client roster shown on its About page also includes Arnold Palmer's Bay Hill, Cleveland State University, Lincoln Electric, PNC and Smucker's. The agency describes its clients as extensions of its own team and says it builds custom solutions instead of one-size-fits-all work. According to its website, the studio is at 1375 Euclid Avenue in downtown Cleveland, and it runs a sister project called Buds and Pals alongside the agency.
